October 26, November 1 and 2 Holidays (Non-working)

In case you missed it, there would be two upcoming long weekends, one is at the end of the current week and the other would be the end of next week. From previous announcement, October 26 (Friday) has been declared as a Regular national holiday in celebration of Eidul Adha , a Muslim festival. In the following week, November 1 and 2 , which are annual holidays, All Saints Day and All Souls Day  holidays respectively, happened to be on Thursday and Friday. October 26, 2012 is Holiday - Eidul Adha

MalacaƱang Palace, the residence of the Philippine president, from the other side of the Pasig River (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Malacanang Palace declares October 26, 2012 (Friday) as a regular national holiday in celebration of the Muslim Festival Eidul Adha. The declaration was made via Proclamation No. 488. There will be no classes and work during the said day. For those employees who will be required by their employers to report on that day shall receive extra compensation as directed by the labor law.

Palace Declares July 13, 2012 As National Day of Remembrance in Honor of Dolphy Quizon

Two days after the news of Dolphy's death broke out, President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III declares Friday, July 13, 2012 as a national day of remembrance in honor of the late comedy king. In statement, deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte says that "The President issued the proclamation in recognition of how the nation deeply feels the passing of Dolphy. In the proclamation, the President cited Dolphy as a man who will live on in Philippine cultural history—and in the hearts of many of his countrymen."
