Piso Fare and Job Fair on Labor Day 2014

Tomorrow, May 1, the whole country will again celebrate the annual Labor Day. And since it is one of the major holidays of the year, here are some big news and events associated with it. Piso Fare for Labor Day Continuing the tradition of announcing promo fares in almost all major holidays in the country, Cebu Pacific announces today a Piso fare promo. One peso base fare plus surcharges gives you a discounted ticket for both international and local destinations. Travel period is from June to December 15, 2014. Promo ends May 2 . Labor Day Non-working Holiday This Thursday, May 1 is Labor Day Holiday. There would be no classes and work. If an employee is required to render service on that day, he or she is entitled to additional compensation as dictated by local labor laws.

March 30, 2013 is a Non-working Holiday (Black Saturday)

For those who are not aware or just wants a clarification, March 30, 2013 is a special non-working holiday in the Philippines. This year, March 30 falls in the Catholic observance known as the Black Sabbath (Black Saturday). This has been declared as early as last year when President Aquino signed Proclamation No. 459 containing the schedule of holidays for the entire year 2013. For those who will be required to report on that day, the employer shall provide additional compensation based on the established rules of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). Monday, August 27, 2012 is National Heroes Day, A National Holiday

As scheduled late last year via  Proclamation No. 295 , August 27, 2012 (Monday) will be a regular national holiday in celebration of the annual National Heroes Day. With that, all classes and by default, all work shall be suspended for that day to give everyone time to celebrate the patriotic event. In cases where the employee needs to go to work, as agreed upon between him and the employer, the employee shall be entitled to an additional pay as dictated by the existing labor law. The official gazette of the government at www.gov.ph has published the pay rules made by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) during this holiday.
