Monday, August 27, 2012 is National Heroes Day, A National Holiday

This is another long weekend for employees and students. As scheduled late last year via Proclamation No. 295, August 27, 2012 (Monday) will be a regular national holiday in celebration of the annual National Heroes Day. With that, all classes and by default, all work shall be suspended for that day to give everyone time to celebrate the patriotic event.

In cases where the employee needs to go to work, as agreed upon between him and the employer, the employee shall be entitled to an additional pay as dictated by the existing labor law. The official gazette of the government at www.gov.ph has published the pay rules made by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) during this holiday.
