Tigerair Taiwan Will Fly Straight Cebu to Taipei

Tigerair Taiwan will begin flying directly Cebu to Taipei starting December 1, 2018. This is the airline's response to the steady increase in the demand for flights to Taiwan. The initial schedule for flights is every Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. You can book your tickets at www.tigerairtw.com . Screenshot of Tigerair Taiwan website. With this new route, Tiger Air Taiwan will compete with Philippines' largest airline, Cebu Pacific and AirAsia Philippines. The three will utilize the newly-opened Terminal 2 of Mactan-Cebu International Airport. No Visa Policy Until July 31, 2019 The increase in demand for Taiwan fights is undoubtedly influenced by the relaxed visa policy of Taiwan for Philippine passport holders. Filipino visitors are allowed visa-free entry to Taiwan if they will only stay there up to 14 days. This experimental policy was implemented starting November 1, 2017 and was initially set to expire July 31, 2018. After that period of evaluat...

It Seems Like Tigerair is Not Ready to Run

Last month, Singaporean-brand low-cost airline Tigerair made its debut in the Philippines. Although their presence is already felt a few months before that (because local airline company SEAIR is marketing them), their full entry was set last month.

On Refunding TigerAir Promo Ticket

YES. You can refund promo tickets as long as it's the airline's fault. Here's my story. I planned to go to Puerto Princesa , Palawan for a short vacation with my family, but due to budget risks and unpredictable weather, I decided to cancel our travel. The good thing though is that Tigerair recently changed my flight time. And since the delay/advance is more than three hours (which I think is the rule), I can refund my tickets. So here's what I did. 261 (Photo credit: Wikipedia )

Why Tiger Airways Re-brands to Tigerair?

For those who doesn't know yet, Singapore-based budget carrier Tiger Airways is now TigerAir . The new identity of the leading airline company goes live this month of July. So what's new? A New Look of their Website and Mobile App Re-branding will be useless unless you change the way you look. TigerAir did that by revamping their website. Though the Tigerish motif is still there, a combination of orange and dark grey hues, the redesigned website looks more neat with more white spaces than before. I personally appreciate how they show their deals now. Before, it was being shown in flash slides. Now, all the deals were in huge tiles. I also like that the booking section was enlarged and placed at the center of page.

New Airphil Express and Tiger Airways Routes

Low-cost airlines Airphil Express and Tiger-SEAIR announces new service routes. These routes expand each airlines coverage in both domestic and international flights. Airphil Express Now Flies to Batanes and Sandakan Batanes, considered to be one of the remotest provinces in the Philippines, can now be accessed easier than ever. Before, SEAIR flies from Manila to Basco, the capital of Batanes group of islands. But recently, it wasn't anymore in the list of Manila routes available in their website. The sole airline that flies to Batanes is SkyJet. As of today, they are still serving the Manila - Basco route. But Skyjet won't be alone anymore, because just a few days ago, Airphil Express announces their Manila - Basco route starting May 2013. Another new route of Airphil Express is Zamboanga - Sandakan. Sandakan is the second largest city in Sabah, Malaysia. Because of its proximity to the the Philippines as well as the historical connection of Sabah to the Sulu Sultanate...

In Fairness, Tiger-Seair Flight Was Good!

200 (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Two weeks ago, I had a chance to fly to Manila and back. My flight is with Tiger Airways (or SEAir). But before my flight I had some biases against SEAir/Tiger. I used to think that the service would be worst because it's one the small airline companies that operate locally. Well, I was surprised to realize that my flight is good. Big Plane (Cebu - Manila) - Seair Airbus A320 Like I said earlier, I had some biases against Seair. I used to think that since they still have fewer customers. they will board me in a small propeller-type plane. I would admit that I don't like that type of plane. First, it flies at a lower altitude, which means more chances of turbulence. Second, it is relatively slow compared with Airbus A320 planes. I still remember when I flew Manila-Cebu route in a turbo-propeller Cebu Pacific aircraft., it took us about two hours of travel time. Well, I was surprised...

Last Minute Booking? Try Tiger Airways-SEAir

200 (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Planning is a good exercise in almost anything that we want to do. This is especially true with travel. But sometimes, no matter how good our plan is there are unforeseen situations that may come in our way. Some of the inconveniences or losses that we may experience is having to re-book or most of the time, cancel and buy another plane ticket. Did it happened to you already? Well, here's a tip that can help you at least reduce the cost of last-minute ticket purchases: book on Seair or Tiger Airways. Well, since Singapore based Tiger Airways become held 40% wonership of Seair, the low-cost airline has been in constant expansion. It currently flies from Manila to several major domestic destinations such as Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Kalibo, and Puerto Princesa. But since the airline is still far from the level of Cebu Pacific and Airphil Express, the load factor for each flight is very low. I don't have the data but I can clearly see it from my last ...
