The epicenter of the earthquake was located 10 km (6 miles) below the surface of the earth and is located off the coast of Aomori prefecture. Consequently, the Japanese Meteorological Agency (JMA) issued a Tsunami warning alert. No damage or casualties has been reported as of the moment.
