3 Islands to Visit in Bohol

Aside from the typical island tour in Bohol where you'll visit the Chocolate hills and check out the small primates called Tarsiers, there are other activities you can add to your itinerary. One of those is island hopping. Here's three islands you can visit in that activity Panglao The island hopping actually begins in Panglao island, the biggest land mass close to Bohol. While you won't need a boat to reach it, you still need to cross any of the two causeways connecting it to the mainland Bohol. Panglao is home to many interesting spots. The Alona beach in particular is the most famous among tourists. It's Bohol's own version of Boracay albeit the white sand shore is narrower than Bora. The Alona beach. Fine white sand and palm trees. From Alona beach you can rent for a boat and diving gear. You can also rent a boat to go and watch for dolphins early in the day. The boat costs 1500 to 2000 Pesos. Balicasag Balicasag is another interesting i...

Day Tour Bohol Part 3: Loboc Floating Restaurant, Blood Compact Site

After the buying souvenir items from the Sevilla Souvenir Shop at the Hanging Bridge , we proceeded to the Loboc River Floating Restaurants . Loboc River Floating Restaurants There are four restaurants to choose from, each of them has something different to offer. In our case, we chose the first one, the Riverwatch Floating Restaurant. Apart from the fact we thought the menu suits our taste, we also managed to get a substantial discount from them. The typical price of the buffet is 300 pesos and there's an entrance fee of 100 pesos. All in all, without any discount of whatsoever, you will spend 400 pesos for the cruising buffet meal. As expected, the buffet meal was delicious. There's also a live music performance while you are eating and occasionally, the boat will stop at stations where there's a floating stage at the shore where there are people performing either a native dance and/or a song. Day Tour Bohol Part 2: Ship House, Man-made Forest and Hanging Bridge

This is the second part of my Bohol Day Tour last August 2011. Bohol Ship Haus After the fun at the Chocolate Hills in Carmen , we are bound to visit the Man-made Forest . But along the way, we our driver told us to try the new spot in Bohol , the  Ship Haus . As you may have already thought, ship house is a house resembles a ship where sailors work. It was owned by Capt. Gaundencio Dumapias, a native of Bohol who was once a poor boy and later become a successful sailor. The Ship Haus features the equipment inside the ship, the room of the Captain, Chief Mate, etc. The roof deck of the Ship house resembles the front of the ship where you can "pretend" to see the endless sea in your view. The entrance fee to the Ship Haus is 30 pesos per head. You can also buy souvenir items inside for considerable prices.

Day Tour Bohol Part 1: Tubigon Port, Sagbayan Peak and Chocolate Hills

It's been my second time going to Bohol , but I still find it surprisingly exciting. Here's the first part of the story: From Cebu to Tubigon Port, Bohol My friends from Manila visited in Cebu and after a couple of days touring in the city, we decided to go to Bohol before they go back home. We decided to have a one-day tour, renting a tourist van to accommodate the five of us. The price of the van is 3500 pesos for a day tour from 7AM to 5PM. We left Cebu very early in the morning to be able to catch the first trip to Tubigon port riding a MV Star Crafts vessel . MV Star Crafts is a shipping line company catering the Cebu to Tubigon route . The first trip of Star Crafts is 5:45 AM. Before that time, you should have already purchased a ticket from their ticketing office just outside the gate of Cebu Pier 1 or else you will have to wait for the next trip which is at 7AM. If you will have a day tour, you should go for a 5:45 AM trip or else the time won't be enough...

In the warm waters separating the islands of Cebu and Bohol, these sea monsters (see picture below) can be found. These friendly whale sharks is one of the latest attraction in Oslob, Cebu. Come and visit them. "Snorkeling with the Whale". An underwater camera captured a tourist swimming with a whale shark locally known as "Butanding" in the shoreline waters of Oslob, Cebu. Bohol Island Hopping, Dolphin Watching and Balicasag Island Fish Sanctuary

I've been to Bohol many times before. I had visited Tagbilaran thrice and at one time stayed there for a week in a friend's house. I also had experienced four day-tours, visiting popular places such as Sagbayan Peak, Chocolate Hills, Tarsiers forest, Loboc Floating Restaurant and many others. I have also slept in a friend's house in Panglao Island and saw the beauty of Alona Beach.

What's the Latest in Bohol Day Tour? Increase in Prices

Just recently, I had a Day Tour in Bohol . This is the third one since the first time in September 2010. And just like my previous trips, I took somebody with me. This time though, it's my brother and his family. Overall, nothing is really new in Bohol except the following notable changes. Fare increase in Ferry Just like my previous two trips, I went to Bohol via Tubigon sailing between Cebu and Bohol in about an hour of ferry trip. And yes, it was MV Star Craft 2 that carried us. So what's new? The fare. It increased from 200 Pesos to 220 Pesos for an economy seat. Another one is, well, not new but new to me. Senior Citizens and kids have a  20% discount. Maybe students also have, but I didn't checked. For senior citizens, please bring your Senior Citizen ID. MV Starcraft Fast Craft from Cebu to Bohol New Features in Sagbayan Peak There is another new playground park with new statues and castles where kids (and adult alike) can enjoy playing. That is probab...

How Much Does It Cost For a Day Trip In Bohol?

Bohol , in my opinion, is one of the best tourist spot in the Philippines . It is home to many natural beauties like mountains, rivers, forests and animals. Not to mention, the people of Bohol are warm and friendly. So, if you want a real good time, to relax, chill out and forget the busy life at the Metro, then Bohol is one of the top choices. I personally recommend you to stay in Bohol for at least two days and one night to have the most of it. But since most people are busy, you can just have a bite of Bohol's beauty by having a day tour around the island. Here are some destinations in a typical Bohol Day Tour and how much is the cost per each stop. 1. Sagbayan Peak Sagbayan Peak is a small park located on top of a high land. You can see a view of the surrounding places and some chocolate hills visible in the area. At the entrance to Sagbayan peak , there are also " tarsiers " that you can view. Entrance Fee: 10 PESOS PER PERSON ONLY View at Sagbayan Peak,...
