It's early 2013 when AirAsia decided to cut its Cebu operations and focus on their Manila operations. But just a few weeks ago, AirAsia announced that it's flying from Cebu once again. AirAsia Philippines, a subsidiary of the Malaysia -based low-cost airline AirAsia Berdad will fly from Mactan-Cebu International Airport to the following destinations starting April 22, 2017: Davao Palawan Boracay/Caticlan In addition to that, AirAsia Philippines will now fly from Davao City to the following destinations, also starting this April 22. I've been traveling to Davao City every year because of religious conventions and assemblies. Once a year though, I have to stay for as long as four days. Through the years, I have gathered information on the places where you can stay for small money without compromising much of the comfort (as far as my standard is concerned). My second trip to Davao was not as long as my first one. But I was able to have a good time during that trip too. During that time, we did not stay at an acquaintance's house but in St. Camillus Dormitel  located inside the Davao Doctor's Hospital Compound. The Dorm is quite nice because it is clean and it is not very expensive. The price is 200 to 250 pesos per person per night. The rooms are air conditioned and although the bathroom is shared, you do not have to wait for your turn because there are plenty of bathrooms and the water supply is plenty. Update : This store was already closed. Davao has a lot more to offer than its famous Durian . In a small restaurant along Cabantian Road in Buhangin District, you can eat fried frogs! The name of the restaurant is Goody Cove Grill and they are serving real fried frog, locally known as Baki or Palaka. Crunchy Fried Frog "It tastes like chicken". That's the common remark of those who ate it. Well, you don't need to worry because these frogs were the edible ones. The type of frogs residing in rice fields, so more or less they're just eating leaf-eating bugs. The preparation is safe as well for the beheaded, skinned-out frogs were deep-fried in oil. With that, all the microbes you think it may have had should already be dissolved because of heat. But if you really don't like frogs, you can eat other grilled dishes like fish and chicken.
