HOLIDAY: December 26 and January 2 are Special Holidays for the Government

Malacanang Palace just declared December 26, 2017 and January 2, 2018 as special holidays for the government employees. Memorandum Circular No.37 which made the announcement mentions government offices including government owned and controlled corporations, government financial institution, state universities and colleges, local government units and other agencies and instrumentalities .The two dates, which fell on a Tuesday, are the days following the two major national holidays in the country: Christmas and New Year's Day. These two new holidays will allow government employees extra time with their families. Traditionally, Christmas and New Year's Day were opportunities for families to get together. Aside from government, all others will return to their normal schedules. Government  employees that will be required to work on that day shall receive 30% additional on their daily rate. This is in accordance to the rules set forth by the Philippine Labor Law....

SUSPENDED: Classes and Government Work Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 17, 2017

[Updated: Oct. 17, 2017, 12:50AM] Reversing its earlier announcement that classes and work will resume tomorrow, Malacanang Palace just announced that school classes on all levels as well as all government offices under the executive branch of the government are still suspended tomorrow, October 17, 2017. The reason for the cancellation is the continued nationwide protest lead by transport groups opposing the government's plan of "Jeepney modernisation"

Memorandum Circular 28 released by Malacanang Palace suspended all classes throughout the country in both public and private schools tomorrow, October 16, 2017 in response to a planned two-day transport strike by Jeepney Operators and drivers. February 22, 2013 Class Suspensions Due to Heavy Rains

Afternoon classes in selected cities in Metro Manila were suspended Friday morning due to heavy rains. Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim and Paranaque Mayor Florencio M. Bernabe, Jr.were early to announce the suspension. Later in the noon, Quezon City mayor Herbert Bautista and Pasay Mayor Antonio Calixto issued separate class suspension announcements. Class Suspensions Due to Typhoon Pablo - December 3-4, 2012

Typhoon Pablo is already in the Philippine Area of Responsibility and is estimated to make a landfall tomorrow, Tuesday. According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA), At 02:00PM today, the eye of Typhoon Pablo was located at 450km Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur (7.0°N 130.4°E) with maximum sustained winds of 175kph & gustiness of up to 210kph. It is moving West Northwest at 24kph. The storm is expected to hover the Visayas and Mindanao areas in the coming days. Executive Secretary Pacquito Ochoa Suspends Classes in NCR, and other Luzon Provinces Tomorrow, Thursday, August 9, 2012

A new announcement regarding suspended classes emerges early this evening that will prevent confusion as to which places have suspended their classes for tomorrow, August 9, 2012. (July 20, 2012) Afternoon Classes Suspended in Metro Manila, Region 4a

Due to the heavy rains brought by a low pressure area in Luzon,  the Department of Education (DepEd) have announced suspension of classes in some Metro Manila cities. At this point,  Pasay, Pateros, Manila and ParaƱaque, Marikina, Malabon  Cities  have declared class suspension from elementary to High School. For Region IV Areas, the following towns and cities have declared class suspensions from Elementary to High School:      Angono, Antipolo City, Cainta, Binangonan, Morong andTeresa in Rizal, Rosario, Kawit, Bacoor, Imus, Tanza, Cavite City and Noveleta in Cavite Please take note that the suspensions applies to both Public and Private schools. July 3, 2012: Afternoon Classes in Manila Suspended by Mayor Lim

This suspension covers pre-school, elementary and secondary (high school) level. It is not sertain whether the announcement covers college classes. Classes in other Metro Manila cities was also suspended by their Mayors. For instance, all classes, except college, in Paranaque City has already been suspended earlier. Update: Pasay City suspends public and private classes up to high school. - @DepEd_PH Navotas suspends classes up to High School. Classes and offices in UP Manila until 12nn today Classes are now suspended in PUP-Sta. Mesa, PUP-San Juan, PUP-Commonwealth and PUP-Taguig. (TO BE UPDATED)

No Classes in Quezon City on Monday, July 25, 2011 - DepEd

Image via Wikipedia The Department of Education (DepEd) announced earlier today that there will be no classes on all levels (from Kinder to Highschool level) on Monday, July 25, 2011 due to the State of the Nation Address ( SONA ) of President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino . For tertiary/college level though, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is yet to make an announcement. There will also be a traffic rerouting in the Commonwealth area affected by the President's second SONA .
