Malacañang Palace (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) In celebration of the annual Lenten season (Holy Week), April 5 and 6, 2012 was declared by Malacanang Palace as non-working regular holidays. April 5 and 6 will be celebrated by Catholics as Maundy Thursday and Good Friday respectively. With regards to April 7, 2012 (Black Saturday), it is still unclear whether Malacanang will declare it as a special non-working holiday or not but in the past, that day is usually declared as so. A magnitude 5.9 earthquake shakes Mindanao region at around 3:58 PM (Manila Time) according to the record of United States Geological Survey (USGS) . The tremor was felt as far as Visayas region. A magnitude 5.3 earthquake shook the Masbate region early this morning. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports that the quake occurred at around 7:06 AM, Tuesday Morning, March 6, 2012. The epicenter is estimated to be 10 km (6 miles) ESE of Masbate. The epicenter of the Masbate  earthquake.
