3 Islands to Visit in Bohol

Aside from the typical island tour in Bohol where you'll visit the Chocolate hills and check out the small primates called Tarsiers, there are other activities you can add to your itinerary. One of those is island hopping. Here's three islands you can visit in that activity Panglao The island hopping actually begins in Panglao island, the biggest land mass close to Bohol. While you won't need a boat to reach it, you still need to cross any of the two causeways connecting it to the mainland Bohol. Panglao is home to many interesting spots. Taiwan is Visa-Free to Filipinos Until July 31, 2024

Good news to all! Taiwan will continue to be visa-free to Filipinos visiting the island state for tourism, visiting friends, attending conferences, business, and the like until at least July 31, 2024, after Taiwan's Manila office announced the extension of this free entry policy.  This visa-free policy started on November 1, 2017, and has been almost uninterrupted except for the glitch last year when several passengers were denied entry a few days after the July 31, 2022 deadline. The issue was later corrected, and the visa-free policy continued to be enforced. Filipino travelers under this policy can stay up to 14 days in Taiwan. Taipei 101. From Cebu City, you have to travel on land for about 4 hours down to Liloan Port located in the southern tip of Cebu island. From there, you will have to cross the Tanon Strait for about 30 minutes docking on Sibulan port. A few minutes drive from there will take you to Dumaguete City. So, what can you do if you're in Dumaguete? Here's three things you can do over a weekend. 1. Fine Dine in Sansrival Restaurant After a long trip especially from Cebu City, you would understandably be very hungry. Dumaguete is famous for the Sansrival Restaurant. As the name suggests, it used to be a bakeshop with sans rival as the main offering. Sans Rival, by the way, ia a Filipino desssert made of layers of buttercream, meringue and chopped cashews. Now in addition to the bakeshop, they have a fine dining restaurant offering loca...

Photo: Hong Kong

If you're thinking of traveling outside the country for the first time, I highly recommend going to Hong Kong. This former British colony is tourist-friendly. Equipped with advanced and efficient transport system - bus, subway, taxi - and many people able to speak English, it's hard to get lost and if you do, it's so easy to get back on track. Moreover, Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific, the two largest airlines in the country flies to Hong Kong frequently. And yes, Cebu Pacific offers promo fares (as low as 1 Peso base fare) from time to time. All you need is a valid passport and your tickets and you can enter Hong Kong easily. [Related: Latest Promo Fares] It's also relatively cheap to go to HK. Lodging place can be as cheap as 500 Pesos per night if you're not sensitive to room size. My last trip to this place cost me a little more than 15,000 Pesos (all-in) for a 3-day fun. View from Victoria Peak, Hong Kong
