Tomorrow, May 1, the whole country will again celebrate the annual Labor Day. And since it is one of the major holidays of the year, here are some big news and events associated with it. Piso Fare for Labor Day Continuing the tradition of announcing promo fares in almost all major holidays in the country, Cebu Pacific announces today a Piso fare promo. One peso base fare plus surcharges gives you a discounted ticket for both international and local destinations. Travel period is from June to December 15, 2014. Promo ends May 2 . Labor Day Non-working Holiday This Thursday, May 1 is Labor Day Holiday. There would be no classes and work. If an employee is required to render service on that day, he or she is entitled to additional compensation as dictated by local labor laws.

In line with this Proclamation 295 signed by the President of the Republic of the Philippines declares the date as a regular non-working holiday throughout the entire Philippines. However, for those who will be required by their respective companies to work on duty that day, they are entitled for additional compensation as provisioned in the existing Labor Code .
