In celebration of the annual Lenten season (Holy Week), April 5 and 6, 2012 was declared by Malacanang Palace as non-working regular holidays. April 5 and 6 will be celebrated by Catholics as Maundy Thursday and Good Friday respectively.

With regards to April 7, 2012 (Black Saturday), it is still unclear whether Malacanang will declare it as a special non-working holiday or not but in the past, that day is usually declared as so.
