Netflix offers the largest collection of movies and TV collections in the world. It currently has 100,000 DVD titles in its collection. It was founded in 1997 and with more than 20Million subscribers, it is the leading provider of on-demand movie and TV streaming service in the United States.
Competing Against Piracy
Probably one of biggest challenge Netflix will face here in the Philippines is to convince many people to turn from downloading pirated movies to streaming it at a minimal cost. The challenge is even compounded by the issue of slow internet connection.
Netflix follows the move of Spotify and Apple Music, american media streaming services that made its way into the country. Like Netflix, both are competing against piracy and file sharing practices many Filipinos have been used to.
Local Competitor - iFlix and HOOQ
Netflix will compete with iFlix and HOOQ, local versions of Netflix which was heavily advertised in the past year. With Netflix on board, it will post a huge challenge to iFlix and HOOQ.
Yugatech.com did a great job of putting up a comparison chart of the three streaming services. Kindly check here: Comparison: Netflix vs iflix vs HOOQ

It is free everywhere I guess. I must share this post with my cousin who lives there. She was talking about the shows by Andy Yeatman on Netflix and is very eager to watch it. I have seen it all and was wondering what to do next.
ReplyDeleteI am overpowered by your post with such a decent theme. Typically I visit your web journals and get refreshed through the data you incorporate yet the present blog would be the most obvious. Well done!
